Board of Directors
The Great
Northern Pipe Club is operated and governed by an elected Board of Directors on
a frequency determined by the club members. The Board is made up of President,
Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer and is supported by the Communications
Chair.

Elections & By-laws
Currently, the proposed by-laws for the club have been drafted, but not approved/ratified by the club members. The proposed election process is as follows:
ARTICLE VII - Election and Term of Service
Section 1 - At the October meeting of the GNPC Members, the
President shall appoint a Nominating Committee consisting of three club
members.
Section 2 - It shall be the duty of this committee, at the
next to last meeting of the club year, to present a slate of members in good standing who are willing to serve, for the offices
indicated in ARTICLE VI, Section 3 of the Bylaws. At this meeting additional
candidates may be nominated from the floor by any member in good standing. Such
nominations, when seconded, shall be included in the list of candidates.
Section 3 - The election of officers shall take place at
the last meeting of the club year as prescribed in Article VI, Section 3,
immediately following the announcement of candidates by the Nominating
Committee. The candidates receiving the highest number of votes for each office
shall be declared elected, and shall serve until their successor is installed.
Each member in good standing is entitled to one vote. After tabulation of the
votes, the results shall be announced by the President. Elections shall be conducted by e-mail to all
members. Or, as determined by the Nominating Committee, require an in-person
vote as long as sufficient notification is given to club members. Votes will be determined by the number of
responses received.
Section 4 – President and Vice President shall be elected
for a term of two years. There is no
term limit for the Secretary/Treasurer.
Section 5 - Officers-elect shall be installed on January 1st
following the election. Neither the President or the Vice President shall serve
in the same post for more than two (2) consecutive terms (ie 4 years maximum). In
the event at the end of 2 consecutive terms for either the President of Vice
President that a viable successor is not named, each Officer can remain in
their post for 6 month durations if recommended by the Nominating Committee and
only until a viable election can occur to install new leaders.
