The purpose of The Great Northern Pipe Club is to stimulate and advance the general welfare of pipe smoking, pipe collecting, and tobacco. It develops a fraternal spirit among pipe smokers and provides a medium for the exchange of information among members.

The 2021 Pipe of The Year (POY)
We are pleased to offer as our Pipe of The Year, a pipe from RC "Chuck" Sands. We decided rather than going with a single shape by a single carver to go with a "Pipe Maker of the Year" approach. Meaning, there will be a variety of shapes and styles to choose from. These pipes are existing new (unsmoked) pipes carved by Chuck and will be stamped with our GNPC POY and year designation.
From Reynoldsburg, OH, RC Sands, or "Chuck," as we call him, has been making solid, blue collar, smoking pipes for many years. Learning much from fellow Ohio pipe maker Tim West, Chuck's pipes are characterized by thick walls, stout American proportions, and affordable price.
